WaterHealth Announces More than 100 WaterHealth Centres in Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, (July 21, 2007) - WaterHealth International, Inc. (WHI) today announced that more than 100 WaterHealth Centres are at various stages of completion in Andhra Pradesh. The Centres are operational in 58 villages across the districts of Krishna and West Godavari, with another 67 under construction or awaiting commissioning. WaterHealth began its efforts in India two years ago with a pilot project in Bomminampadu, and the company has rapidly gained momentum for its innovative and comprehensive approach to providing clean water to combat waterborne diseases.

WaterHealth attributes the success of its projects in these regions to the "Blue Revolution," an initiative launched by WaterHealth in February 2007 with the goal of making potable water easily available, affordable, and accessible on a wider scale than has ever been possible before.

"We are proud to announce the completion of our initial milestone of establishing 100 WaterHealth Centres in Andhra Pradesh.," said Dr. Tralance Addy, President and CEO of WaterHealth International. "India is a key focus area for WaterHealth, and we are happy that the Blue Revolution is being embraced by the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Also addressing the media, Sudesh Menon, CEO, WaterHealth India, said, "As we go forward, we expect to add thousands more WaterHealth Centres in the State. This milestone would not have been possible without the wholehearted support of the village communities, the Panchayats, and their leadership, as well as the Local Government bodies."

In rural India, the impact of contaminated water on health is devastating. Inadequate access to potable water causes waterborne diseases that affect millions of people annually. Repeated bouts with diarrhea and other waterborne diseases leave both children and adults weak, less productive and prone to malnutrition, causing diminished health and sometimes loss of life. Waterborne diseases claim hundreds of thousands of lives annually in India – more than any other country.

WaterHealth International, Inc. provides innovative business solutions to one of the world's most desperate health crises, the lack of safe, clean and affordable water for the more than two billion people who have little or no access to it. WHI's award winning water purification and disinfection technology, combined with creative and unique business approaches, enable the delivery of highly affordable, clean water to even the most remote and underserved communities. WHI invests in health and hygiene education programs as part of its normal business practices to combat waterborne diseases in the communities it serves. WHI's website is www.waterhealth.com.
